Caryn Constantinides is an Austin-based painter and mother of two. A Graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art with a double major BFA in General Fine Arts and Graphic Design. Upon graduation she began working as a graphic designer but after 10 years, thrillingly returned to her painting practice.
Caryn’s practice explores the materiality of paint, inviting viewers to delve into the layers and how soft gradations and bold textures interact. By examining the interaction of foreground and background, and the contrast between fluid washes of color and bold lines, the artwork reveals not only differences but also unexpected harmony—the way disparate elements coexist and complement each other.
